January – Energy, Motivation, & Improved Health

January is often a time for reflection and the setting of goals. Often those goals are for healing and improved health. Having the energy to keep ourselves motivated is the key to success and the realization of these goals. Essential oils truly shine when we are dealing with emotions and motivation. This month we will be talking about some of my favorite essential oils for this as well as some essential things for maintaining health and energy. Be sure and check out my online class about the importance of minerals for our health.

Minerals

Our bodies are masterpiece creations, comprised of many of the elements of which the universe, this earth, and all life are made. The chemical and electrical processes that occur in our bodies require that certain essential minerals (and vitamins) be in sufficient supply within us. Examples of these necessities include iron for your blood and your thyroid, calcium for bones, and sulfur for muscles. In addition, many minerals play a role in the absorption and utilization of other minerals in complicated and amazing choreographical wonder.

In September I was asked to to teach a class on the importance of minerals.  This prompted hours and hours of research.  I have long been fascinated by minerals and how they are needed and utilized by our bodies.  I love to learn what foods contain what nutrients and what is needed for the absorption of certain minerals. It is amazing how minerals can affect our emotional well-being and our health and energy.  I hope that you enjoy this class and share it with your friends and family so they can enjoy better emotional stability and health.

Minerals for Energy and Health

Tissue Salts (Biochemic Salts)

The word biochemic is derived from the Greek word bios, which means “life.”  Biochemic, therefore, means the chemistry of life.  According to biochemic theory, there are 12 major inorganic salts that make up the composition of our cells and our blood.  Blood is to the body what soil is to a plant.  Poor, exhausted soil that is lacking in essential nutrients produces weak and sickly plants.  Poor, exhausted blood that is lacking in essential constituents will produce weak, sickly bodies that are prone to disease and unable to provide the quality of life that we would like to have.  By enriching the soil, plants can be made to thrive.  By enriching the blood and ensuring that the proper nutrients are being carried to the cells, a healthy balance within ourselves can be maintained or recovered.

The strength of our cells and, as a result, the strength of our organs and tissues depends on our having the necessary quantities of these important salts.  If they become depleted in our tissues or cells, or if they become out of balance with one another, proper function is lost.  In fact, biochemic theory maintains that every disease of the human family is due to a lack of one or more of these organic building blocks.  I don’t know that I agree with the ‘every’, but it is an interesting hypothesis.

These are amazing remedies with the ability to change the way we feel every day.  My favorite way to decide what ones to use is to muscle test but there are also lots of books out there.  One of my favorites is
Facial Diagnosis of Cell Salt Deficiencies: A User’s Guide by David Robert Card

Are Cell Salts Homeopathics?

These remedies contain no material dose of the inorganic salts and minerals from which they are made.  They can not be considered supplements in any sense of the word.  Although they are prepared in a manner quite similar to other homeopathic remedies, they work by somewhat different principles.  These remedies do not create in a well person any symptoms of ill health, which is part of the basic premise of homeopathic symptom pictures.  Like homeopathics, however, they bring a certain energy pattern to the attention of the body.

It seems that by highlighting and focusing our energy system on the pattern of a deficiency, these remedies encourage our bodies to look for and uptake needed nutrients until proper quantities and balances are achieved.  Since these salts are the building blocks out of which our entire bodies are made, there is nothing that deficiencies of these vital minerals cannot be connected to.  The corollary to this statement is, of course, that since any ailment of the body may have a connection to a cell salt deficiency, they should be used whenever the physical or emotional symptoms indicate their need.

These January oils were picked to help us find motivation, energy, and health.

LeAmbition resonates in the high spiritual range. It cultivates feelings of self-worth, calms the spirit, opens the mind, and removes negativity and hesitation. It helps us deal with the fear of failure and the fear of making decisions. LeAmbition balances the yin/yang energies and promotes the ability to move forward in achieving one’s goals while being mindful of the needs of others.

This is a whole-body rejuvenation. It is a pick-me-up for every part of every system of your body. This makes LeAmbition an amazing oil to use when recovering from illness. LeAmbition is a great stress relieving oil and can be used for headaches, mental fatigue, and revitalizing a weary mind.

A wonderful rejuvenating blend. This is an oil that brings balance to the soul. It energizes the mind and opens communication between body systems as well as our communication with others.

LeLife Force immediately raises the overall frequency of the body, improving outlook and response to stress and trauma.

It should be used following any illness or traumatic experience that has left one feeling weak, shaky, or on edge. This blend can make a big difference in the recovery period of accidents and illnesses.

LeLife Force builds, strengthens, and protects the body because it is an immune and adrenal gland stimulant and toner. Use it with LeEndoRelief during the cold and flu season. You may avoid getting sick altogether, and, if you do catch something, the illness will have a shorter duration and recovery period.

Soaking your feet in very hot water to which 2 or 3 drops of LeLife Force have been added, can assist the body to detoxify.  The combination of immune stimulant properties and detoxifying capabilities make LeLife Force effective against allergies and other mild auto-immune dysfunctions.

LeLiteN is meant to improve metabolic function, stabilize hormones, and balance blood sugar. A fit and healthy body recovers more quickly and is more disease-resistant. Well-oxygenated cells tend to produce healthy new cells, increasing vigor, stamina, and energy levels.

Consider diffusing LeLiteN in your home or workplace, especially between meals or when feeling tired, worn out, stressed, or discouraged.

Food cravings and a tendency to snack between meals can be the result of stress, fatigue, or boredom. The stimulating and refreshing aroma of LeLiteN is a perfect choice for any situation in which one might turn to food for comfort, encouragement, or a boost of energy. This blend encourages a desire for fitness and vitality and can aid us in developing sufficient energy reserves for the accomplishment of anything that our heart desires.

The aroma of Lemongrass awakens curiosity. It encourages us to go outside our usual boundaries and comfort zones. Lemongrass should be used to cleanse your energy system when you have been in negative situations or around negative people. It can give us energy and reawaken compassion following emotional overload or collapse.

Lemongrass improves circulation, regenerates connective tissue, and repairs ligaments. It is used for acne and for dissolving cellulite during weight loss programs. Lemongrass repairs the parasympathetic nervous system and improves eyesight. It is useful in bladder and kidney disorders and for healing varicose veins.

Pine essential oil is useful for moving on from regrets and self-judgment. It can bring relief from feeling the necessity to “carry the whole world” on our own shoulders.  Pine helps us to establish a healthy respect for our own needs, including the need to rest and rejuvenate from time to time.  It is also for those who confuse the acquisition of more and more “facts” as wisdom. Pine increases metabolism and nutrient absorption. It has a beneficial action on both the kidneys and the intestines, aiding them in their function of removing cellular waste and toxins from the body.

Pine needles were used by the ancient Romans and Greeks and by the American Indians to treat respiratory problems, relieve muscle aches, and prevent scurvy.

Thyme revitalizes and nourishes the nerves and emotions. It can help us overcome mental and emotional exhaustion, inability to concentrate, apathy, and uneasy feelings that have no cause. Thyme can aid us in finding a fresh view of a situation or a new way of doing something.

Thyme is specific for physical exhaustion, especially when there seems to be a lack of direction. A general tonic for the stomach, its carminative properties alleviate gas and bloating.

The antiseptic and antiviral properties of Thyme are strong enough to handle most situations. Thyme is even recommended, applied along the spine, for such ailments as spinal meningitis. Along with killing the invading microbes, it aids lymphatic drainage and urine output and strengthens the immune system. Thyme should be tried for lingering coughs.

MIN Herbal Pack and Tincture

MIN contains the same three herbs—Dulse, Nettles, and Alfalfa—as KNA along with herbs for hormone balance, calming the nerves, strengthening the pancreas, and supporting the kidneys. It makes an excellent daily mineral supplement and is safe to use when pregnant or nursing. I like to make MIN as a glycerite and take it every time I think about it. I have so much more energy and better health whenever I do. It also makes a reasonably pleasant tea for use when pregnant or nursing.

Previously in this blog, we talked about the importance of minerals.  I hope you took the time to watch the class I worked so hard to record for all of you. The importance of minerals cannot be stressed enough.  Herbs are nutrition and they are a great way to fill the gaps often left by our less than stellar diets.  This formula was carefully formulated with super herbs that are powerhouses of nutrition.  I typically use this formula as a glycerite.  My kids will take it with a spoon but it can also go in water or juice.  The herb pack can be used to make an herbal tea.  This is something I did frequently while pregnant and I would sweeten the tea with honey.  Honey has its own wonderful benefits.

Success Blessed Water

This remedy was formulated to help with the emotional and physical aspects of trying to lose weight, maintain a healthy weight, or accept that everything in life is a journey, including weight/body acceptance issues. Success is formulated to help us release negative patterns that hold us back and help us embrace and integrate new positive qualities that help us be successful!

Success is made with ten flower essences.  Flower Essence remedies are very low-potency remedies that address issues of emotional well-being, the development of character and spirituality, and mind/body health.

The removal of emotional responses to certain triggers, the recognition that some ways of responding to certain situations are more appropriate and healthier than others, and the changing of negative attitudes such as fear to faith, and anxiety to peace, can have profound effects on both mental and physical health.

Dr. Edward Bach, an English physician and the creator of the original 36 Bach Flower Remedies, wrote in the early 1930s that, “Behind all disease lies our fears, our anxieties, our greeds, our likes, and dislikes. True healing involves treating the very basis of the cause of the suffering. Therefore, no effort directed to the body alone can do more than superficially repair the damage. Treat people for their emotional unhappiness, allow them to be happy, and they will become well.” While the idea of emotional underpinnings to physical ailments is finding acceptance today, this was truly revolutionary thinking in Dr. Bach’s day.

Flower Essences address our emotions. In fact, flower essence literature contains no reference to physical ailments at all. The descriptions of the states that the remedies address concern themselves completely with emotional and mental health.

This is a very exciting remedy.

LeMeditation

LeMeditation creates a spiritual environment conducive to prayer and meditation.  I like to diffuse this oil when seeking inspiration, reading scriptures, and seeking answers from above.

This blend can help bring us to a state where we are more receptive to divine inspiration. This is  a high spiritual frequency blend that aids us when meditating, pondering, or studying spiritual things

LeMeditation can help us discover and walk away from negative thought patterns. It will aid us in decision-making by bringing us to a place where we can discern heavenly input. It is useful for calming ourselves, finding compassion for others, and lifting ourselves out of depression. This blend can help us find the motivation to make any changes in our lives that we know need to be made.

Blue Tansy

Blue Tansy, like other oils containing chamazulene, regulates the flow of vital energy throughout the body. As the flow of energy in the body travels more freely, a feeling of peaceful solitude is created in our minds and hearts. We are better able to handle stress and feel less threatened and overwhelmed. We feel more gratitude for our health and our families. Blue Tansy increases our creativity, productivity, and desire for achievement on many levels.

Blue Tansy adds pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory properties to the blends in which it is placed. It relieves nervous tension and is used, in very diluted form, for itchy skin conditions.

Oils containing chamazulene are stimulating and energizing to the thymus gland and raise blood pressure that is abnormally low.  It is a sweet-smelling and very relaxing oil.

Weightless Lotion

There is nothing quite as luxurious as handcrafted soaps and lotions.  The wonderful thing about the lotions sold by Butterfly is the added essential oils.  Essential oils can be such a blessing in our lives and can have such wonderful effects on our emotions.  Using them in lotions is a great way to get them into your daily routine. The LeWeightless lotion is very unique.

Emotionally LeWeightless lightens the weight of our negativity which is so often the trigger for “binge” eating or junk food consumption. It is used in programs for eating disorders such as anorexia. LeWeightless increases metabolism, especially fat burning, and helps to dissolve cellulite.  This is a great reason to use it as a lotion.  It is also a lymph drainer and blood purifier and can be helpful with acne. It affects the mind, helping it to function more clearly and quickly.

These homemade natural lotions are gentle enough for all skin types. They are paraben-free, and formaldehyde-free, and they contain no petroleum products, no animal products, and no artificial fragrances or dyes.

Reset Kits

Before doing this or any herbal cleanse I recommend reading Doing a Cleanse Right.  This kit comes in 4 versions.  Two Reset kits, one with traditional tinctures and one with tinctures made in glycerin.  Glycerin tinctures are often a better choice for children.    The other two are the Reset Plus kits.  They contain essential oils and Redmond clay to help the cleansing process go smoothly.

Let’s talk about the 4 tinctures in these kits for a minute.

CD

CD is a combination to be used for inflammation and irritation in the digestive tract. It could be useful for such conditions as chronic indigestion, colitis, ulcers of the small intestine, and constipation. The Plantain, Marshmallow, and Papaya Leaf are particularly soothing and healing, keeping any cleansing side effects milder than they might otherwise be. CD is effective as a mild colon cleanse. I recommend using it 3 or 4 times every year for a week or two each time just to keep the colon healthy and efficient. As always, be sure to support the liver and the kidneys whenever a colon cleanse of any kind, however mild, is attempted. KBLCRC, and this CD formula together make a good all-around cleansing program. Use 15-20 drops every 2-4 hours for as long as you need to.

KB

It is used to cleanse and strengthen the urinary tract to help eliminate toxins and waste products from the body. The kidneys also regulate the liquid-to-solids ratio in the blood and tissues. The KB formula is made up completely of herbs that support and strengthen the kidneys and cellular tissues in general. Be sure to use KB with IF (formerly Infection Fighter) or RC (formerly Red Clover Combination) if a kidney infection is suspected. This is an excellent and wonderfully strong kidney formula. Some of the herbs are also liver cleansers. I prefer to use KB for a few weeks (with an infection fighter)  then switch to the milder diuretic formula, KT for a period of rebuilding and soothing of the urinary tract. If needed I will repeat this pattern—KB with IF followed by KT—several times until the urinary system is operating optimally.

LC

LC aids the liver in secreting the bile into the colon which is necessary for digestive function. When the liver is sluggish, the result is indigestion, constipation, fatigue, headaches, and a long list of other problems that are somewhat unique to each individual. It is recommended to strengthen and support the kidneys and colon while working with the liver by using either KB or KT for the kidneys, CD for the colon, and RC (formerly Red Clover combination) to keep the blood clean of toxins and impurities. Devil’s Claw and Bilberry are specific to sugar problems associated with liver damage or clogging. Other herbs that are beneficial to the liver include Wild Yam, Catnip, Cramp Bark, Skullcap, and Licorice Root.

RC

RC is one of the most effective infection-fighter formulas that I have ever seen and is my personal favorite! This combination is a particularly potent blood cleanser and is very good at keeping a localized infection from spreading and growing. RC can be used to prevent contagion when everyone around you is coming down with one bug or another.  It was even used, in desperation, by a pregnant woman with a wonderful outcome for both mom and baby. RC is safe enough to use when nursing. For best results, be very faithful about taking RC regularly. Keep the doses as high as can be tolerated by the body and continue taking them for a few days after you think you are completely well. Any surviving bacteria will be very healthy and resistant. It is always best to avoid a second round of any illness.

3 additional products are in the Reset  Plus kits.  Two oils and Redmond clay.

LeIQ

LeIQ essential oil contains frankincense, sandalwood, and helichrysum. These oils are high in sesquiterpenes and cross the blood/brain barrier to cleanse, nourish, and carry oxygen to the brain. This blend seems to dissolve some types of chemicals and clear them from the receptor sites feeding the pituitary, pineal, and hypothalamus glands.

LeRevitalize

LeRevitalize essential oil cleanses the liver, but does so gently and steadily. It stabilizes energy levels and improves vitality. LeRevitalize is a good digestive aid, particularly in eliminating bloating, belching, and heartburn. LeRevitalize is good for lymphatic congestion and immune stimulation.

Clay

Use clay to aid in the elimination of toxins, drugs, and pollutants from the body by using it as a toxin soak.  Toxin soaks should be a big part of your routine. A whole body soak is the most common way, but personally, I prefer just a foot soak. A whole body soak can sometimes leave you feeling weak, wrung out, and sleepy. Use 2 tablespoons of clay in a tub of hot water and climb in. Soak for at least 20 minutes, keeping the water as hot as you can. Alternatively, place 2 – 3 T. of clay in a large pan (big enough for your feet) of very hot water. Soak for about 20 minutes. It is amazing how well pulling the toxins through the feet works. It is just as effective as the whole body soak, much easier, and doesn’t seem to make me feel as tired.
