Elderberry Nighttime

Elderberry Nighttime
Glycerin Tincture

I am so excited about this new Elderberry Nighttime. It was developed to help give you all the amazing benefits of elderberry plus help the body to get a restful night’s sleep, help you relax, and reduce stress. Studies show that when we don’t get quality sleep or enough sleep our immune system gets disrupted, making it easier for us to get sick after being exposed to a virus. Stress, even during the day, can affect our sleep. It triggers an elevation in stress hormones that disrupt sleep.

Stress also affects our immune system by decreasing the body’s lymphocytes, the white blood cells that fight infection and disease. Elderberry nourishes the immune system and with the addition of lemon balm, chamomile, and passionflower we can be more relaxed, have less anxiety, and be better prepared to sleep peacefully. Each of these herbs has an affinity for promoting sleep, relaxation, and calming an overstressed nervous system.

Both the regular Elderberry Syrup and the Elderberry Nighttime are made with both Elderberries and Elderflowers. The berries and flowers have vastly different healing properties that complement each other well. Both syrups are on sale this month.

Elderberries are rich in vitamin C, vitamin A, and flavonoids. They are antioxidant powerhouses and may prevent cell damage, even in the toxic environment that modern life has created for each of us. Only black currants and Rosehips contain more vitamin C than Elderberries. Amazingly, Elderberries also contain iron, potassium, phosphorus, copper, calcium, vitamin B6, beta carotenes, and proteins.

Elderflower is considered to be one of the mildest, but one of the greatest and most versatile herbs. It aids in cleansing the blood, and the cells, of waste products and toxins. Elderflower increases circulation and will bring down a fever by producing a healing sweat as quickly as any herbal agent that I know of. It has constituents that act as mild sedatives and analgesics for the relief of pain. It also acts as an expectorant, with anti-catarrhal and anti-inflammatory actions.

Pumpkin Glow

Pumpkin Glow Soap

Pumpkin Glow has a delightfully homey, comforting, spicy cinnamon aroma. The aroma is reminiscent of the rich spicy aroma of pumpkin cookies baking in the oven. It is an absolutely delightful soap. Perfect to get you in the mood for fall.

I love this soap, and I didn’t buy enough last year and I ran out and had to use others for a while.  This is one I am glad to see come back in stock for the season.  This is also one of my favorite oils to diffuse in the fall.

Because these soaps are cold-pressed they take about 6 weeks to cure.  This means that once they sell out they will be gone for the season.

Cayenne Tincture

Cayenne
Herbal Tincture

Taken as a cold or fever begins, Cayenne fights the infection while inducing a beneficial and bacteria-killing sweat. Cayenne is an excellent digestive and reproductive stimulant herb. In respiratory illnesses, Cayenne acts as an expectorant, thinning the mucus in the lungs and making it possible for the body to expel it. In the digestive tract, Cayenne promotes the secretion of digestive juices and improves the ability of the body to absorb nutrients. Cayenne is often used—usually in capsule form—to cauterize and heal stomach ulcers.

The sensation (the burning feeling) created on the tongue stimulates the brain to release endorphins. Endorphins block pain receptors throughout the body and induce feelings of well-being. A positive attitude alone can have a beneficial effect on healing, especially with chronic illnesses.

Cayenne contains carotene molecules which are powerful antioxidants. Interestingly, although Cayenne is hot to the taste it actually lowers body temperatures by stimulating a center in the hypothalamus that is responsible for cooling the body. Cayenne, applied topically, reduces pain.

Cayenne is an accentuator and will increase the healing properties of the other herbs. By adding a touch of Cayenne to a respiratory formula, for example, the respiratory herbs will reach the lungs and begin their healing action much more quickly. You will notice that Cayenne, in small parts, is in many herbal formulas.

Cayenne is high in zinc, which is essential to the hormonal glands. Cayenne is also high in vitamin A and vitamin C, rutin (which strengthens arteries and veins), iron, calcium, and potassium.  Its action on the cardiovascular system is almost instantaneous. Cayenne brings the blood, especially the clotting factors, into a state of homeostasis, making it effective for hemorrhage as well as poor circulation. Cayenne will stop bleeding, even of hemorrhage proportions, and is the first thing that I would reach for at the onset of a stroke or heart attack. Studies have repeatedly shown that Cayenne reduces blood cholesterol and triglyceride levels. In addition to that amazing feat, Cayenne reduces the instances of platelet aggregation—meaning that Cayenne prevents blood clots.

Breezey Rub and InsideOut Rub

LeBreezey & LeInside Out Rubs

These all-natural rubs are very strong. They are made with essential oils, almond oil infused with herbs that complement the properties of the essential oils, and menthol crystals which have their own therapeutic properties and give the rub an icy hot feel.  I love the convenience of these rubs and use them often.  I have used them on children but I do recommend trying them on a small area to be sure they will not irritate the skin.

LeBreezey Rub

LeBreezey opens bronchial and sinus passages very effectively. Besides being very effective in times of illness, LeBreezey is an excellent respiratory tonic and immune stimulant. It has viral-fighting and tissue-rebuilding properties, especially for the lung and bronchial tissues.

LeBreezey Rub works similarly to a vapor rub for the chest. It is made with menthol crystals and a combination of essential oils and herbs that affect the lungs. It can be used for any respiratory ailment including colds and respiratory flu, pneumonia, bronchitis, asthma and allergies, and sinus congestion.

LeInside Out Rub

LeInsideOut improves the function of the digestive system. It helps with upset stomach, belching, bloating, stomach cramps, heartburn, constipation, diarrhea, candida overgrowth, parasites, Crohn’s disease, IBS, and any other colon intestinal or digestive problems. LeInsideOut should be used for any bout of intestinal flu or food poisoning and is useful for most types of nausea.

October Respiratory Essential Oils

In October, the oils in the special are all geared towards helping you and your family through the flu season.  These are my favorite oils for the respiratory system.   Each one is unique and I love them all.

Breezey Essential Oil

LeBreezey, besides being very effective in times of illness, is an excellent respiratory tonic and immune stimulant. The inclusion of Ravensara oil creates viral fighting and tissue-rebuilding properties, especially for the lung and bronchial tissues.

This oil also be tried for colds, asthma, allergies, sinus congestion, and flu. LeBreezey opens bronchial and sinus passages very effectively and has been successful in alleviating snoring.

LeBreezey makes an excellent muscle relaxant and pain reliever when you do not have LeWarmDown or LeDeeper handy and you have strained a muscle. While generally thought of as an oil for physical illness, the aroma of LeBreezey lifts the spirits and brings a sense of confidence and self-worth.

Exhale Essential Oil

LeExhale is a combination of stimulating and soothing that is useful for relieving congestion, colds, or coughs. The Ravensara in this blend helps fight viral strains and, along with Tea Tree, aids in tissue rebuilding, while killing some of the nastiest microbes on the planet. LeExhale is antibacterial, helps encourage lymphatic drainage, stimulates the immune system, and aids circulation. This is the blend I like for Children with respiratory issues.

LeExhale is cool and soothing when we are feeling stuffed up and unable to allow our repressed or pent-up emotions to flow. Colds and congestion often occur when we are feeling “congestion” somewhere in our lives. LeExhale stimulates our minds to look for fresh new ideas and emotions that will serve us better, allowing the body to return to a state of wellness.

ThermaCare Essential Oil

LeThermaCare was specifically designed to aid in gently reducing the very high fevers we often see with the high-powered and quick-onset flu “bugs” that are so prevalent in the world today. The use of this essential oil to reduce fever is especially nice for children. The essential oils contained in LeThermaCare are gentle. They stimulate the body’s defense while calming the nerves and soothing the spirit.

LeThermaCare aids our emotional health because it strengthens and balances the wide range of organs and glands that make up the endocrine system. As our bodies and minds begin to function better, we feel more secure in ourselves. We are able to establish (or reestablish) boundaries between ourselves and others. This does not mean that we become prickly or rude; it enables us to be tactful and firm while still being kind and concerned.

Eucalyptus Globulas Essential Oil

Eucalyptus is useful for bronchitis, colds, flu, asthma, and any problem in the respiratory system. It is one of the best oils for bringing down a fever.

Eucalyptus helps us find our survivor spirit. Eucalyptus taps into the inner strength in each of us. It can help us develop unfaltering faith in ourselves and in divine assistance. It strips away doubt about our abilities, removes negativity and hesitation, and pushes us forward. Eucalyptus calms our spirits and opens our minds to see the way ahead clearly.

Eucalyptus is a strong analgesic. It can be applied alone or as part of a blend for muscle aches and headaches. Well diluted, Eucalyptus is good for skin rashes and makes a very good energizing massage oil.

Melissa Rectified Essential Oil

Melissa is beneficial to emotionally sensitive individuals. Melissa is considered to be one of the most powerful antiseptic and medicinal essential oils.  Studies conducted in Germany indicate that it is useful against various strains of flu virus, smallpox, and mumps. The University of Munich reports a complete remission of herpes simplex lesions (cold sores and impetigo) from the use of Melissa oil.

Melissa Pure is the first distillation of the oil. It is the purest, and most therapeutic of the Melissas. It is also by far the most expensive. Melissa Rectified is Melissa oil that has been redistilled and mixed with the first distillation. This enables an oil such as Melissa to be produced less expensively so that people will be able to afford to use it.

Myrtle Essential Oil

Myrtle is a very anti-inflammatory and decongestant oil. These properties make it useful for diarrhea, bladder infections, sinus infections, and lung complaints such as asthma, bronchitis, and chronic coughs.  Myrtle regulates the functions of glands in the endocrine system. This effect is seen most clearly in the stimulation of thyroid activity and in the decongestion of the prostate.

Myrtle has a stabilizing effect on hormones and supports immune function.  It is a good skin care oil and aids the digestive system.

Myrtle, since it removes some of the stresses in our lives through grounding and organization, is often useful for insomnia.

October Respiratory Blessed Waters

Blessed Waters

The right homeopathic remedy works very rapidly.  As with all healing stimulated energetically, the more recent things respond and clear first.  That makes homeopathic remedies ideal for flu season.

There are several that I would not want to be without for flu situations.

If you take the time to study homeopathics (blessed waters) and then learn how they can be used for the flu, it will be one of the best things, you could ever do for yourself and your family.

A great place to start when learning about homeopathics is with this blog Homeopathy – Basic Principles.

Flu Symptoms #1

Flu Symptoms #1 The focus of this combination is digestive disturbances (flu-like symptoms) brought on by prolonged mental effort, stage fright, or performance anxiety. Along with digestive disturbances, the symptom picture may include fear, feelings of helplessness, anxiety, sleeplessness, vertigo, and, perhaps, a sensation of coldness alternating with rushes of heat.

Flu Symptoms #2

Flu Symptoms #2 A very potent and effective intestinal flu remedy. Includes remedies for physical symptoms of flu such as fever, cough, stomach pain, sour belching, headache, aching bones and muscles, and great weakness. The Gelsemium in this remedy aids the body in returning to normal energy levels after the exhaustion and prostration that often accompanies a bout of flu.

Respiratory #1

This remedy should be considered for extreme lung issues where lymph is clogged not just in the lungs but throughout the entire body, including such other internal organs (along with the lungs) as the pancreas and intestinal tract. Butterfly Expressions, LLC, essential oil blend LeStefanie was created as a companion to Respiratory #1 and should be considered for use at the same time.

Respiratory #2

This remedy was potentized (made into a Homeopathic/Blessed Water energetic remedy) from two herbal ingredients. Osha is considered one of nature’s strongest anti-viral remedies. Lungwort, reflecting its name in its healing properties, is known to be effective for pulmonary issues from mild ones (coughing, hoarseness, irritation) to deeper ones such as bleeding in lung tissues.

Respiratory #3

This combination remedy appears to focus on dry, irritated coughs that are made worse by changes in atmospheric pressure such as flying or weather changes. Interestingly, the symptoms are made worse by deep breathing (running or just trying to take deep breaths) and are often triggered by bouts of anger or resentment that are held deep inside the mind and heart.

Respiratory #4

Only one remedy in this combination (Vespa crabro—wasp venom) is strongly indicated for lung issues. The other two, a Bach Flower remedy and a remedy made from soothing mineral springs water—are strongly emotional in nature. The Bach Flower Remedy is listed in the grouping for those who suffer despondency and despair. The other remedy, Teplitz aqua, is indicated for similar feelings but of a less severe depth.

Respiratory #5

The remedies in this combination influence far more than lung issues. They target kidneys, glands throughout the body, the pancreas, eyes that are sensitive to light, bone diseases, headaches, confusion, difficulty concentrating, and depression brought on by recent or even long unprocessed grief and loss.

Stefanie Essential OilLeStefanie was developed to help fight antibiotic-resistant pseudomonas bacteria, especially in the lungs. This blend has a great affinity for the entire respiratory system. LeStefanie should be considered for any respiratory problems, such as asthma, bronchitis, chest colds, or flu.

The Melissa oil used in this blend is one of the strongest antiviral, antibacterial essential oils in the essential oil repertory. This blend is anti-infective, anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic, antibacterial, antimicrobial, antiviral, sedative, antidepressant, and mucolytic.

It is uniquely effective for instilling a positive mental outlook on life and for improving one’s ability to enjoy life to the fullest. LeStefanie balances and uplifts emotions. The Melissa in this blend adds a light, lemony scent.

Hyssop is used to strengthen the lungs and prevent the recurrence of colds and flu. It is particularly helpful in drying up the secretions and mucous of pneumonia, bronchitis, and asthma.

Hyssop’s effect on circulation and lymph drainage makes it useful for discharging toxins and mucous, treating dermatitis and gout, raising low blood pressure, preventing or minimizing scar tissue, and healing of infections and wounds.

Hyssop increases perspiration. Sweating is one of the body’s ways of removing toxins and impurities. It also lowers body temperature. When the circulation is poor and the lymph glands are clogged, perspiration is unable to occur. This is a serious and health-threatening situation.

Mullein Carrier Oil

Mullein Carrier Oil

Mullein has been used for centuries because of its outstanding medicinal properties. The herb Mullein grows in dry, barren places. Following the ancient law of signatures, this would indicate that Mullein is an herb for respiratory conditions, especially those where the lungs need “drying out.”It also has anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory, and anti-spasmodic properties, thus increasing its value in respiratory ailments, and is certainly recommended for use as a carrier oil with these conditions.

Mullein Oil is one of the ingredients in EO made by Butterfly Express LLC for use with earaches and infections. It is often added to herbal poultices to provide emollient and healing properties and to offset the astringency of some anti-infectious herbs. The infused oil can be used in much the same way.

Mullein Oil, as a carrier oil, should be used when applying oils to the chest for infections, coughs, and congestion. It can be used in the ears, alone or as part of the EO recipe, to relieve the pain of ear infections and fight the bacteria involved. It can also be of benefit as a carrier oil when working with inflammation and pain. Mullein is gentle enough to be used on babies for diaper rash and for cracked nipples with nursing mothers.
